Evaluation Criteria
In its fourteenth year, YTH Live Global 2022 aims to further center youth voices in technology and health. The conference will focus on the health and wellness of youth in the US and around the globe, seeking to understand how innovative technology can be leveraged to improve health outcomes for all and promote health equity. We will continue to focus on Trauma Informed Youth-Centered Health Design in our conference program and plenaries. All abstracts will be reviewed by the YTH Live Global 2022 Program Committee.

Session Types
Digital Poster
A digital poster uses a template created for the conference. There will be digital poster sessions built into the conference agenda. You will also be able to field questions and engage in conversation around your poster through a live chat. Posters will be accessible throughout the conference and available in the conference archive.
Lightning Stories
A lightning story is a 10-minute pre-recorded presentation using a template created for the conference, in a storytelling format. There will be lightning story sessions built into the conference agenda. You will also be able to field questions and engage in conversation around your story through a live chat. Lightning stories will be accessible throughout the conference and available in the conference archive.
Interactive Workshop
A 60-minute live, interactive workshop for a “How To…” series. Workshops will engage participants in general learning around a skill that fits at the intersection of youth, health, and technology. Examples include: How to create a chatbot for adolescent mental health; How to use social media to recruit adolescents for HIV testing, etc.
Breakout Presentation
A 15–20-minute live or pre-recorded presentation, using a template created for the conference. Your session will be paired with several other talks about similar subjects and will be followed by a live Q&A with audience participants, moderated by a member of ETR’s staff, our YTH Live Global 2022 Program Committee, or an external expert on the panel topic.
Pre-Formed Panel
A group of two-to-three speakers on a similar subject who will each briefly present and then engage in a (minimum) 20-minute live Q&A with the audience.
The Path to Success
The most successful abstracts will include visionary uses of technology for youth-centered health. Priority consideration will be given to abstracts that feature:
- Youth-led and/or youth-designed innovations and interventions that are community-focused and culturally relevant
- Nontraditional and cross-sectional collaboration and partnership strategies that engage and empower parents, communities, and/or institutions outside of the traditional public health sector
- Breakthrough research that offers ideas and opportunities for practitioners to develop effective outreach and engagement approaches for youth health
- Innovations that foster diversity, inclusion, equity, empathy and collaboration
- Disruptive innovations and emerging trends
- Inclusive community technology projects
- Measuring impact of digital interventions for youth health
- Big data, the quantified self, and wearable technology
- Open-source solutions
- Technology-based education tools and curricula
Abstract Format
Explain how your session meets the evaluation criteria and describe the potential significance of your project, research, or product on youth health and wellness. Include a brief description of your session for use on our website.
Abstract (250-word limit total for all three parts)
Part I: Describe your project, research, or product. Include who it aims to reach, the specific technologies used, the role it plays, and the health goals it addresses.
Part II: List three main points or learning objectives that your presentation will include. If presenting research, include information about the study’s purpose, methodology, and results.
Part III: Explain how your presentation is important to the field of youth health and technology.
Presentation/Activity Format (150-word limit)
We are dedicated to highlighting innovative and engaging projects for a variety of audiences at our conference, inclusive of youth and their learning styles.
For “How To…” Workshops: Please describe ways that your workshop will be engaging to audience members (for example: hands-on testing your technology, leading a design workshop, brainstorming activity, etc.). Provide a breakdown of how you plan to structure your workshop.
For Digital Posters, Lightning Stories, and Breakout Sessions: How will you be inclusive of those with different learning styles who attend your session (e.g., provide handouts, hands-on activity, slides to accompany a story, etc.)?
For Pre-Formed Panels: Please describe the speakers, their expertise on the topic, and a few sample questions for the discussion during this proposed session.
Keywords
Please provide 5 keywords that describe your presentation, who it reaches, the technology used, and the health goals addressed.
Example 1: reproductive health, mobile application, research, pregnancy, teens

Presentation Format
Aligned with ETR’s commitment to Design for Learning, we are dedicated to creating interactive presentations that provide ample opportunity for dialogue between presenters and attendees. We encourage creative, interactive, experimental, and non-traditional session formats.
YTH Live Global reserves the right to rearrange formats when appropriate.
Speaker Responsibilities
Each presenter is responsible for the cost of registration to attend YTH Live Global 2022. Accepted speakers will receive a code for $50 off general admission cost.
