Image H5b1 Complex Description

Diagram of the reproductive system of a body with a penis, shown from the side, that illustrates how sperm travel through the reproductive system, showing the following organs labeled with their names, starting at the bottom of the diagram where the journey of the sperm cells begins:

  • Testicle, pictured as a round structure inside the outline of the scrotum, with sperm represented as dots with a wiggly line as a tail that looks like a small tadpole shown inside it.
  • Vas deferens, a tube that comes from the top of the testicle and then curves around the other organs, shown connecting with the seminal vesicle and running through the prostate gland, with sperm traveling inside it.
  • Seminal vesicle, an oblong structure that connects to the tube of the vas deferens just above the prostate gland.
  • Prostate gland, a larger rounded structure that the tube of the vas deferens runs through after passing by the seminal vesicle.
  • Cowper’s gland, a small round organ located just below the prostate, which is connected to the tube coming from the prostate gland
  • Urethra, a tube that connects to the vas deferens below the Cowper’s gland and then runs the length of the penis, coming out the tip. Sperm are show traveling inside it and one sperm is labeled.
